Today, Beats and AMBUSH have finally released their debut collaboration, the glow-in-the-dark edition of the Powerbeats earphone. The outcome of the collaborative foray is the first-ever glow-in-the-dark product of Beats.

AMBUSH’s Yoon Ahn looked at her home town of Tokyo as an inspiration to the collab, drawing in particular from the nighttime energies of the city.

“I live in the middle of Shibuya and I am always inspired by how the city just glows at night time,” said Ahn. “I thought it would be really cool to design a product that could capture that same city energy when you’re outside late at night listening to music. This collaboration was designed for everyone who is confident, having fun, being creative and trying new things — those kids always seem to glow the brightest.”

The wireless Powerbeats have a full-charging battery life of 15 hours, Fast Fuel technology that offers up to one hour of playback on a five-minute charge, and an IPX4 sweat and water-resistant rating. The two-way volume rocker and playback buttons are placed directly on the earbuds, while iOS users can use Siri to take advantage of hands-free commands.

From a design perspective, the AMBUSH Powerbeats sport a matching red “b” badge and AMBUSH logo on each earbud, and come with a co-branded ripstop case, four-size ear tips, and a USB-A charging cord.
