Ronnie Fieg, the designer and owner of Kith, gave us a first look at his upcoming BMW collaboration.

Over two Instagram posts, Fieg initially teased the joint project, the first expressing his nostalgic link to the car maker, and the second featuring a first look at the collaborative Kith x BMW emblem. He then followed the two uploads by posting a Kith-branded BMW E30 M3 with multiple photos.

A image of his aunt standing next to his grandfather’s 1979 BMW E21 was included in Fieg’s first Instagram post. “This started it all for me,” he said. “Wish he was here to see what’s coming.” The footwear and apparel designer then shared another post yesterday morning, showing the famous BMW logo with Kith branding.

A comprehensive look at a toy version of the BMW E30 M3 is given by the third, and most revealing, Instagram update. In the classic Zinno Red, the iconic car is painted, featuring many Kith brand hits throughout.

Fieg has yet to share more information about the partnership with Kith x BMW, which we now believe is based around the E30. In 1982, BMW’s E30 3 Series replaced the E21, which was seen in Fieg’s first Instagram post.

This is not a fashion designer’s first automotive partnership that we’ve seen in recent months. Virgil Abloh had just unveiled his conceptual version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, and before that, Futura worked with BMW to paint three M2 examples by hand.
