Gucci recently announced plans to contribute €2 million to support local as well as global aid projects, the latest in a slew of brands to provide capital, factories or help in other ways to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Splitting the donation into two €1 million pieces, half will go to the Italian Department of Civil Protection, which will distribute money to health services and crisis management organizations in the country, while the other half will go to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund of the United Nations Foundation, which supports WHO in monitoring and recognizing the virus and developing vaccines.

Commenting about the donation, Alessandro Michele said;

“Gucci has created a world, open and free: a Gucci global community. We ask all of you to be the changemakers in this crisis, to stand together with us in the fight against the Coronavirus. We are all in this together,”.
