The world is now a much different place than it was back in February when, as part of its ready-to – wear collection at PFW, Maison Margiela previewed the Tabi x Instapump Rage, but it has never been more ready for it. It may have been foresight, but this bonkers, a shoe’s apocalypse-stomp is peek 2020. And after aeons of teasers and tidbits, we’ve got a release date at last.

The hybrid shoe incorporates the Tabi ‘s split-toed top with Reebok’s pump tooling. This technology was created in 1989 to allow athletes to change the sneakers fit manually. A small pump fills the patch that is wrapped around the top for this specific silhouette, while a neighboring button is used to deflate it.

Every style combines elements from the signature split-toed shoe by Margiela, the Tabi, and the trailblazing silhouette of Reebok, the Instapump Rage. The joint shoe from Maison Margiela and Rebook is optional in six colorways for both the flat and heeled models, outfitted with co-branding.

The flat – memory of the former Retro Fit sneaker – and the heeled silhouettes will be available in all six colors in September 2020, including solid black and solid white in two fabrics, as well as yellow , black and red , white, blue and red, celebrating Reebok’s OG colors.

On the first model, a sheet of Hexalite enhances durability and stability, while the plateau and the heel of the sole on the heel variant are connected by a Graphlite carbon shank.
