Prada is the new luxury brand to announce that, after last week’s donations to Italian hospitals, it will offer more assistance to the Covid-19 crisis.
Last Wednesday the Italian label began the production of 80,000 medical overalls and 110,000 masks following an application from the Tuscany region. The development schedule, which will be finished by April 6, calls for regular deliveries. The emergency products are being manufactured at the Montone Prada plant, which has remained open for this reason.
This announcement follows the news that LVMH is repurposing its cosmetics factories Givenchy and Dior to manufacture hand sanitizer for French hospitals, as well as for Kering S.A. (Proprietor of Balenciaga, Gucci and Bottega Veneta) revealing that it would produce surgical masks to support the France shortage.
