Mercer introduced the Racer Lux Alcantara, which stands out from the rest of Mercer’s shoe offerings due to the components used to make it. Alcantara is a fully vegan, synthetic substance used in the interior of high-end automotive brands such as Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari.
Alcantara can also be seen as a more natural alternative to suede, which is what Mercer, based in Amsterdam, has done here. The Mercer Racer Lux Alcantara comes in three colors: triple black, black and white, and white and tan.
In addition to the Alcantara upper, the sneakers sport a distinct ’70s-inspired style, though with a slightly larger outline. In addition, the Vibram sole unit provides a secure and stable walk.
